Game Staff and Contact Information
We list in detail the staff positions and their duties below so all players of Fate can understand them. Not only do we wish them to be understood, but we expect all staff, including the owner to be absolutely beholden to these expectations, be it from fellow staff or a new player. Fate is a place of community, where people of like mind come together to participate in a game and a hobby they enjoy. Every player invests their own money in the support of the game, in the form of their attendance fees and their own props and costumes which serve to better the quality of the experience and atmosphere we seek to provide. In this, every player is due a voice, and every staff member understands their positions are a responsibility, and not a privilege.

Fate’s Game Marshals are in charge of direct supervision of game during events. They ensure that everyone plays fair and are present to answer questions Out Of Game when needed. Every Game Marshal knows to remove themselves from any situation where bias might influence a call they make concerning an issue during game play. For instance making the final call in an situation which would have an outcome of significant effect on their own character would be improper. They must know when to issue verbal warnings to players, and when those warnings need be escalated to the appropriate staff. Game Marshals are divided into two sub categories.
Rules Marshals are overseen by the Head of Rules. Rules Marshals are charged with the dictation, and sometimes interpretation of the game’s rules during play. They must have a strong familiarity with game mechanics that allow Fate’s make believe world to function. They oversee the castings of Rituals and Rites, are in attendance when Player Characters or Non Player Characters intend to break into holdings of or steal possessions from other Player Characters, and to ensure no one is cheating by mistake or intent.
Plot Marshals are overseen by the Head of Plot. Plot Marshals are charged with bringing the world the Player Characters inhabit to life. They write the plotlines that unfold during weekend events or across entire seasons and seek to ensure that all players are entertained. They must measure consequence, and know that a game world where Player Characters are above failure has no great meaning. Plot Marshals will offer narrative to set the scene and always work to better render the players’ ability to suspend disbelief while In Character. All NPCs from their, stats, backgrounds, and purpose must be approved by these marshals before they can exit NPC Camp.
